Back into the swing of things.

All work and no play is never a good thing. Thankfully we have good friends to get us out of that position and help put us back into the swing of things.

Last weekend we had great time at the Little Creek Casino with friends Kurt & Amy. Spike and the Impalers put on a very entertaining show and we were able to leave the BJ table ahead after a couple of hours of both of us playing. Avery had a fun time with Papa and Grammy and can't wait to go back.

After a quick work week, friends Ben, Maggie and their son Henry came over for dinner on Saturday night. Roasted beef tenderloin with a mushroom brandy sauce accompanied by asparagus and mashed potatoes highlighted the meal. The night was topped off by a couple hours games, drinks and a delicious smores cheesecake.

Hopefully, the next night of fun is not too far away.

How do we keep up?

Traffic should be back to normal, flood water has receded, roads are open, a full week of work ahead, back to the gym, swim lessons have resumed, birthday party on Wednesday at Red Robin, CCFA meeting same night, Monroe basketball Friday, gymnastics and then off to see Spike & the Impalers on Saturday, lose a little money at the Little Creek Casino...Oh the treadmill of life continues at a rampant pace. More power to all of you with multiple kids.

This week also kicked off Neil's venture into the absurd world of Facebook. Sending friend requests, getting poked, throwing snowballs, writing on walls, reading about the lives of your childhood friends..sometimes it almost feels as if you are spying on someone. It is amazing to see all of the career paths that people have taken and the families that they are raising.

Where would we be without technology? I just don't know how we survived back when we couldn't get a message on our phone while driving home that a friend from high school was just sitting down with a glass of wine and good book for the night. I guess it is how we keep up with the fast pace of everything going on around us.

Back to Work/School

Christmas is over and put away, the house has been reorganized, new toys and games have been played with, all the good but bad for you food has been eaten, winter break has come the an end(or has it???), and it is time to start getting up 4 hours earlier than we are now used to.
Neil and Avery doing their best at Disney Sing It.

The scene as we prepared for bed.

Avery is really going to be disappointed if school is cancelled again for her tomorrow!

Will the snow stop in time???
