Henderson Christmas 2012

Christmas comes early at the Henderson household. This year Dec 14 kicked off our Christmas celebration. Thanks to Dad, Jan, Thea & Cory for hosting a wonderful evening. There was lots of good food and plenty of  laughs throughout the evening. Christmas 2012 will be a memorable one.

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving started with a 29 lb turkey aptly named "Dinner" by Avery. The before and after pictures of "Dinner" tell the rest of the story. It was awesome that all of the family could make it for such a great day. What took a couple days to put together was devoured in a matter of minutes.

Crushers Party

Post-season party at Alfy's in Snohomish. Pizza, cake, trophies, pictures...U10 season comes to an end. Way to go Crushers!!!

The Gym

No sports for the Hendersons this winter...What should we do??? Hit the gym of course. Avery and Dad spent two evenings at the gym this week. Avery signed up for 24 personal training sessions and is off to a great start. Medicine balls, jump ropes, resistance bands, exercise balls, push ups, burpees, treadmills all part of her workout routine. Two nights a week for the next 11 weeks...We will be ready for softball season!!!

Bob's Corn

We met the Heater's at Bob's Corn for a Saturday afternoon search for pumpkins. Wood fired pizza, caramel apples, hot cocoa, coffee, doughnuts, and cotton candy fueled our stay while we were there. A hayride down to the field helped us to and from the pumpkin patch. Avery and Henry played on the swings, shot the corn cannons, and rode the cow train. A great way to spend a fall afternoon. (This year the pumpkins are staying in the garage until Halloween for fear of getting smashed on the first night  again)

 

Bieber!!!!

After waiting for months the day finally arrived. Oct 9th 2012 Avery, Morgan and the Moms battled their way to the Tacoma Dome on a Tuesday night to see Justin Bieber!! The place was absolutely CRAZY but everyone had a great time. A night of memories they can hold onto the rest of their lives.

Soccer Win!!

Avery's soccer team got their first taste of victory today. Avery played the entire game, scored a goal, and had a lot  fun in the process. Hope they will continue to improve as the season moves forward!!

Friday Night Lights

Friday nights in September usually consist of a stop at Subway for dinner and a trip to a high school football game. Avery and Neil headed off to the Mariner-Monroe game at MHS this Friday. They met up with Uncle Nic for a while as Mariner took advantage of Monroe mistakes leading to a 29-26 final in the favor of Mariner.

Our 4th Grader

Avery started 4th grade today!!! Her parents could not be more proud of her!!!

Monroe Fair 2012

The Monroe Fair marks the official end of summer for the Henderson Household. As Avery put it...This is my ninth time going to the fair...Then as we are leaving...See you next year! Always fun to eat fair food, go on the rides, visit the animals, look at the junk for sale and watch the people (Oh the people!!!) Back to work tomorrow and our normal routine resumes next week.

Mt Pilchuck

Today I cheated on my hiking buddy...I got a message last night inviting me to hike Mt Pilchuck today and I could not turn it down. The sexy decoy got me but this was just a day hike so there was no tenting involved. 6 miles roundtrip (2 miles of rocks), 4 hours, and overcast skies that blocked some views but also kept us from roasting in the sun, Made it to the lookout, had some lunch, all why enjoying the day on the Mountain.

Fun in the Sun

Avery and Neil spent an afternoon/evening with Jen, Nathan, and Hunter playing in the water near Warm Beach. Boating, Tubing, Kayaking, Swimming and a good dinner to top it off. What a great day to spend one of the hottest days of the year!

Wacky Day

Today was wacky day at tennis camp. Avery has been playing golf, soccer, and tennis this summer and is improving daily. It's fun to see the aggressiveness starting to come out in her.

Tennis Camp

This week Avery is attending tennis camp at the high school. She is having a great time and it gives dad a chance to make it to the gym.

Golf camp was Awesome!!!

Last day of golf camp today...Avery made a couple great putts, she had some great drives on the range and even got to play two holes on the course.

Golf Camp

Avery hit the links this week attending the Junior Golf Camp at Snohomish Golf Course. She is really enjoying it. She did a fabuluos job in the putting game...the driving range still has some work to be done.

Sounders vs Galaxy

Dinner at The Ram Northgate and then off to Century Link for our first Sounders experience. To our surprise the Sounders dominated with goals throughout the game. Thanks to Ben, Maggie and Henry for the tickets. We had a beautiful night and exciting game to entertain us!
