Aquafest 2009

Sun, rides, junk vendors, and people watching galore. You could not ask for more out of a small town fair. We packed up Avery and Cam and made our way down the hill to the 49th annual version of Aquafest. We walked down main street through the maze of vendors and the groups of teenagers lining the way. At the end of the street was the small ride section and the kids were very excited to get started. The kids tried every ride. They started by riding the airplanes together. That led the motorcycles, the carousel, the sizzler(Avery's first bigger kid ride), the cars, the dragon swing(Cam only, Neil and Avery were on the Sizzler again), and the Team Fitness Bounce house. The kids ended their rides by going through the Fun House back on main street.

On our way back to the Fun House face painters jumped us in the middle of the road for their services. We wanted to say no, but we just couldn't(There was a better face painting station, but the kids did not want to wait) I thought we had left the high pressure sales in the Caribbean but I guess I was wrong.

Time to eat...Collectively we at two corndogs, a pulled pork sandwich, an authentic philly cheesesteak, an order of ribbon fries, a couple scoops of ice cream, a strawberry/peach/banana layered smoothie, and a bag of carmel kettlecorn. Add a couple sodas and some lemonade to wash it all down. VERY GOOD!!!

After eating we took a look at the proud pet show. We ended our adventure by settling down in the grass at the park for the magic show. You can't tell from the picture but as we sat down it started to rain. By the end of the show it was pouring and everyone was soaked

If you can't tell, we all had a great time! Next fair stop...Evergreen State Fair.
